Before recabling joints 1 and 2, you will first have to remove the large side shoulder covers (with the Barrett Medical logo on them) and the shoulder cover supports. To do this,

1. Unscrew the 4 Phillips screws on each shoulder cover. Unscrew each screw partially until it gets hard to turn and then repeat this process until the covers come free.
2. Unscrew the 2 Phillips screws at the top of each moving shoulder cover and remove them.

Before recabling joint 3, you will first have to remove the shoulder bracket cover (above the large shoulder cover) and the elbow covers. To do this,

1. Unscrew the 3 flat head Phillips screws on the shoulder bracket cover.
2. Carefully remove the shoulder bracket cover by tipping it forward and gently flexing it to slide it around the inner link tube.
3. Unscrew the 3 Phillips screws on the elbow trim strip and gently slide the elbow trim strip off the elbow, taking care to bend the strip as little as possible.
4. Remove the cradle.
5. Fully unscrew the elbow cam lever from the thumb screw and remove the cam lever.
6. Rotate the outer link stub so it points straight up away from the elbow.
7. Unscrew the 2 Phillips screws on each elbow cover and remove the covers.
