    1212== Mounting Method 1:  Lab Bench Stand ==
    13 The Lexan Bench Stand you received with the !BarrettHand™ has been provided for convenience in programming the !BarrettHand™ when a host robot arm is not available.  Use the wire guide clips to provide strain relief to the Hand cable.  Figure 8 illustrates how to mount the Hand in the Lexan Bench Stand.

    42 1. Use the 2-mm hex wrench to open fingers 1, 2, & 3 (see [htdocs:bhand/280/figure26.png here]). Spread fingers to roughly 120 degrees and rest the unit on its fingertips. Place the stand, feet up, onto the hand. Note the alignment of the !BarrettHand™ relative to the wire strain relief clips to ease connection of the !BarrettHand™ Cable.
     421. Place the !BarrettHand™ on the stand's dowel pins. Note the alignment of the !BarrettHand™ relative to the wire strain relief clips to ease connection of the !BarrettHand™ Cable.
    43431. Screw on the threaded ring
    44441. Make sure the Power Supply is turned OFF, then attach the hand cable.
    45 1. Use a screwdriver to tighten the retainer screws on each side of the connector.
    46 1. Open the cable clips.
    47 1. Route the !BarrettHand™ Cable through all three cable clips on the lab bench stand.
    48 1. Tighten the cable clips to hold the cable in place.
     451. If attaching cable to underside of hand, use the 2-mm hex wrench to open fingers 1, 2, & 3 (see [htdocs:bhand/280/figure26.png here]). Spread fingers to roughly 120 degrees and rest the unit on its fingertips.
     461. If attaching cable to underside of hand, then use a screwdriver to tighten the retainer screws on each side of the connector.
     471. Ziptie the !BarrettHand™ Cable across the cable clip to provide strain relief
